Our overland tour begins today as we take a 4X4 and head north into the dramatic Kali Gandaki Valley, one of the deepest river gorges in the world. The road gradually climbs through changing landscapes where subtropical forests slowly give way to drier Himalayan terrain. Passing through villages, waterfalls, and winding mountain roads, the scenery becomes increasingly rugged as the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges rise prominently on both sides.

Continuing deeper into Mustang, the route passes through Kalopani, a peaceful settlement known for its pine forests, traditional houses, and impressive mountain scenery. The route then continues to Jomsom, the administrative center of Mustang situated along the Kali Gandaki River. Tsarang is one of the historically important settlements of Upper Mustang, known for its red monastery, traditional mud-brick architecture, and centuries-old cultural heritage. This day is dedicated to exploring the spiritual and cultural surroundings of Tsarang. After breakfast, take an excursion to Ghar Gompa, one of the oldest monasteries in the Mustang region. According to local tradition, the monastery is associated with Guru Rinpoche and is considered spiritually significant among the Himalayan Buddhist communities.

As the journey descends toward Muktinath, the changing light across the barren Himalayan terrain creates excellent opportunities for photography and quiet appreciation of the landscape. Upon arrival, the remainder of the evening is free to rest and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere around Muktinath.

This morning offers another opportunity to experience the sacred atmosphere of Muktinath Temple. Guests may choose to take part in ritual bathing beneath the 108 water spouts or simply walk quietly around the temple complex while observing pilgrims and monks engaged in prayer.

After breakfast, begin the drive southward through Jomsom and the Kali Gandaki Valley toward Thasang. As the elevation gradually decreases, the barren desert terrain slowly transitions back into greener valleys and forested hillsides.

Upon arrival in Thasang, the evening remains free to relax at the lodge and enjoy the calmer surroundings after several days in the high-altitude landscapes of Upper Mustang.

After breakfast, begin the journey southward through the Kali Gandaki Valley, retracing the dramatic landscapes of Mustang. Passing through Kalopani and nearby mountain settlements, the scenery gradually changes from the barren trans-Himalayan terrain of Upper Mustang into greener hills, waterfalls, forests, and terraced farmland.

At you near the Pokhara valley, move towards Sarangkot, a peaceful hilltop destination renowned for its panoramic Himalayan views. Resting above Pokhara, Sarangkot offers sweeping vistas of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, and the surrounding valleys below. The quieter atmosphere and elevated setting provide a relaxing conclusion after the remote landscapes of Mustang.
