Flight to Paro and drive to Thimphu

The flight offers stunning views of the snow-capped eastern Himalayas. After arriving at Paro Airport, a representative will meet you and transfer you to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The drive to Thimphu takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Overnight in Thimphu.

Paro-sightseeing

We will take an excursion in the morning to Taktsang Monastery which takes about 15 minutes’ drive to the starting point. The hike to Taktsang takes about an hour uphill till the viewpoint and another hour to the monastery. Guru Rinpoche visited and meditated in the 8th century at this particular site. The Desi Tenzin Rabgye later built the temple in the 17th century. Lunch at Cafeteria. In the afternoon, we will make visit to Ta Dzong (National Museum) which is the best place to get familiar about Bhutanese religion, customs and traditional arts & crafts. Overnight in Paro.

Paro-sightseeing

Flight from Paro to Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, you’ll clear immigration and customs before stepping out of the airport, where your guide will be waiting to greet you. From there, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, conveniently located in the heart of the city, allowing easy access to Kathmandu’s many attractions.

In the afternoon, you’ll begin your exploration with a visit to the historic Patan Durbar Square. Situated in the ancient city of Patan, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a stunning showcase of Newar architecture, art, and culture. Once the royal palace of the Malla kings, Patan Durbar Square is adorned with intricately carved temples, shrines, and courtyards that date back centuries.

Chitwan

After breakfast, we will go for a scenic Jungle safari in the Chitwan National Park. The Park was established in 1973 and has been granted the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spread around about 368 sq miles, the park in home to 543 species of birds and 68 mammals including the elusive one-horned Rhinoceros and the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger. 

We will also visit the Elephant breeding centre. In the evening, we will enjoy the amazing local Tharu dances. Tharu are the indigenous inhabitants of the region and still live today with their century old lifestyle and traditions. Overnight in Chitwan

Today we will make a 3-hour drive from Chitwan to Bandipur. The road will wind along rivers and valleys, offering glimpses of terraced fields and small villages nestled in the foothills.

Bandipur is a charming hilltop town in Nepal, located at an elevation of around 1,030 meters (3,380 feet) above sea level. Originally a trading hub for the Newar people in the 18th century, it was a popular stop on the trade routes between India and Tibet. The town is renowned for its beautifully preserved Newari architecture, with traditional brick houses, wooden windows, and pagoda-style temples lining its cobbled streets. The town boasts of stunning views of the Himalayan range, including peaks like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu. Overnight in Bandipur.

After breakfast, we will drive Pokhara, which is 80 kilometers, typically taking about 2-3 hours, depending on road conditions. As you leave the hilltop town of Bandipur, the winding roads take you through picturesque valleys and terraced farmlands. Along the way, the landscape opens up to reveal stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.

Pokhara, situated at an elevation of approximately 827 meters, greets travelers with its serene lakes, most notably Phewa Lake, and its laid-back atmosphere. Known for its adventure activities, beautiful lakes, and as the gateway to the Annapurna trekking region, Pokhara offers a perfect contrast to Bandipur’s old-world charm with its more vibrant, outdoor-oriented experience. On a clear day, Sarangkot offers stunning vistas of the western Himalayan range and the surrounding valleys.  We’ll also explore the lively Old Bazaar. For those who enjoy hiking, there is an option to hike up to the Peace Stupa, which stands majestically on the ridge overlooking Phewa Lake. You can also take a relaxing boat ride on Phewa Lake and visit the island temple of Goddess Barahi, one of the most popular temples in Pokhara. Depending on your interests, we can also visit the Mountaineering Museum or the Natural History Museum. Overnight in Pokhara.

Yamdrok Lake—”the jade lake on the pasture”—is one of Tibet’s four sacred lakes. According to local legend, Yamdrok was once a fairy goddess from heaven and is revered as the female Guardian of Buddhism in Tibet. The lake’s pristine waters are believed to bless and protect all who visit it. At a breathtaking altitude of 4,441 meters above sea level, Yamdrok Lake stretches 130 kilometers from east to west, with a depth ranging from 20 to 60 meters.
