Himachal Pradesh is a state of India situated in Northern India bordered by Jammu and Kashmir on the north, Punjab on the west, Uttar Pradesh on the south and Uttaranchal on the east and occupies an area of 55,673 sq km. Himachal Pradesh is placed between two Himalayans mountain range; the Himadri or the northernmost range and the Shivalik or the southernmost range. The word "Himachal" means the abode of snow and the place is referred to as Dev Bhoomi or "Land of God." Himachal Pradesh is blessed with a pleasant weather all through the year therefore making it a favorite and perfect hill station in India.
