Nepal's iconic trek! This is the only trail that every trekkers wishes to do once in his or her lifetime. Trekking to Everest base Camp is one of the highlights of Nepal and a favorite among keen outdoor enthusiasts. This is a strenuous trek and trekkers should be well prepared. However, our guides and porters have the experience and knowledge to help you with proper acclimatization and tips to complete this beautiful and challenging journey. First we will fly to Lukla (2800m/9,200ft), the gateway to the Everest region, before delving into one of the most memorable moments of your life. The trek will allow you to observe views truly magical, you will see Mount Everest - the highest mountain on Earth - and three other of the top ten highest peaks up-close - Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyo.
The experience of being so close to such domineering mountains provide a sense of purity and spirituality never to be forgotten. Throughout the trek you will also be able to sample the unique way of living within the Himalayan range, meeting the friendly Sherpa people and observing their unique religion and culture as you walk through, sleep and relax in many of their villages. Brightly - colored prayer flags fluttering in the breeze and beautifully-carved mani stones are the common sights along the trail leading the way to next village. Be sure to try Tibetan salty butter tea in tea houses or indulge in sipping a glass of chang, homemade raw beer, before falling into a peaceful sleep.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Flight to Lukha and Trek to Phakding (2610m/8560ft).
Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3435m/11270ft).
Day 03: Rest and acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar.
Day 04: Trek To Tengboche (3860m/12664ft).
Day 05: Trek to Dingboche (4410m/14460ft).
Day 06: Rest and acclimatization day in Dingboche.
Day 07: Trek to Lobuche (4935/16200ft).
Day 08: Trek to Gorak Shep (5181m/17000ft).
Day 09: Trek to Everest Base camp (5357m/17575ft).
Day 10: Trek to Pheriche (4252m/13950ft).
Day 11: Trek to Phortse (3820m/12533ft).
Day 12: Trek to Monjo village (2835m/9301ft) via Namche Bazaar.
Day 13: Trek back to Lukla (2850m/9350ft).
Day 14: Return flight to Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft).
Day 01: Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2610m/8560ft).
The flight to Lukla is highly dependent on the weather and cannot take off unless the air traffic controller confirms there is good visibility in Lukla. After landing in Lukla, we will trek approximately 3 hours to Phakding. Overnight in Phakding at Teahouse.
Days 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3435m/11270ft).
The trail continues north up the Dudh Kosi valley to Jorsale- and ascends a steep uphill climb to the Sherpa market town of Namche Bazaar. The town is bustling with numerous homes, trekker's inns, shops, and a small monastery (5-6 hrs hiking). Overnight in Namche at Teahouse.
Day 03: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar.
Today is the rest day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize the high altitude. Namche Bazaar is colorful village with many wonderful and interesting shops and vendors, stunning views of the surrounding mountains. A hike above town rewards a spectacular Himalayan sunrise and view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and the beautiful Ama Dablam. We can also visit the sherpa Museum on the way back to our Tea house. Overnight in Namche Bazaar at Teahouse.
Days 04: Trek to Tengboche (3860m/12554ft).
The trek continues descending into the deep Dodh kosi gorge and ascend the otherside, one of the most beautiful valley and to Tengboche Monastery with magnificient views of the mountains. (5-6 hrs hiking). The Tengboch Monastery is the spritual center of the Khumbu region. Inside the Monastery are incredibly ornate wall hangings a sculpture of Buddha. Overnight in Tengboche at Teahouse.
Day 05: Trek to Dingboche (4935/16200ft).
Morning trek from Tengboche, the trail drops to Debuche crossing another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja khola (river) and climbs to Pangboche. Our uphill trek continues taking us to the traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its exciting view of Lhotse and Ama Dablam. (5-6 hours hiking) Overnight in Dingboche at Teahouse.
Day 06: Rest and Acclimatization day in Dingboche.
Today, We take another rest day to get acclimatize with high altitude. We can take day hike up to the Chhukung valley for the georgeous scenery of the North Face of Ama Dablam and Lhotse. Overnight at Dingboche in Teahouse.
Day 07: Trek to Lobuche (4935/16200ft).
Morning hike up along the Khumbu Glacier and Dughla(15100ft), where we stop for a lunch then continue to the yak grazing pastures at Lobuche (5-6 hrs hiking).Overnight in Lobuche at Teahouse.
Day 08: Trek to Gorak Shep (5181m/17000ft).
Trek to Gorakshep (3.5hrs hiking). Gorak Shep is nestled under the snow-coned summit of Pumori (23442ft) and the sheer west face of Nuptse (25,850 ft) and requires two and half hours of hiking along the rocky fields and glacial fragments at the edge of the Khumbu Glacier. If you are willing to attempt a hike up to Kala Patar (18,192 ft, 3-4 hours round trip),you will be rewarded with the best view of Mount Everest. Overnight in Gorak Shep at Teahouse.
Day 09: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5357m/17575ft).
Today we wll continue our hike to Everest Base Camp (3hrs hiking), located at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall. we spend the day at Base Camp, giving you a chance to meet the climbers and throughly explore the area. We will return to Gorak Shep. Overnight in Gorak Shep at Teahouse.
Day 10: Trek to Pheriche (4252m/13950ft).
In the morning we will enjoy tea and breakfast with the view of Everest and we head down the glacier and reenter the lush and beautiful valleys, surrounded by spectacular snow-capped peaks. We reach to Pheriche (5hrs hiking). Overnight in Pheriche at Teahouse.
Day 11: Trek to Phortse (3829m/12533ft).
We continue to hike (6hrs) back down to the valley through the rhododendron forest to Debuce, a quiet and sparse village with a Tibetan Nunnery. We arrive in phortse and relax. Overnight in Phortse at Teahouse.
Day 12: Trek to Monjo village (2835m/9301ft) via Namche Bazaar.
The trail drops sharply down to the Dodh Kosi and then up toward Namche Bazaar. The trail winds in and out high above the river with spectacular views north towards the Everest valleys. We cross the river and ascend up to Mongla Hill which offers also the close up mountain views. From here, decend all the way down to famous town Namche Bazaar. After lunch we trek further descends to Monjo vilage. Overnight in Monjo at Teahouse.
Day 13: Trek back to Lukla (2850m/9350ft).
We trek back from Monjo to Lukla (7hrs hiking). Decending along the bank of Dodh Kosi River, we will have plenty of opportunities to walk over suspension bridges. Arrive in Lukla and take rest. Overnight in Lukla at Teahous.
Day 14: Return flight to Kathmandu (1350m/4429ft)
If the weather is favorable, the craft from Kathmandu lands at the Lukla airfield and we embark on the short flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you are transferred to your hotel.
