Trip Over View

Sailung Trek is an easy trek without any long steep ascents. While relatively easy, it is still a very beautiful trek which starts from Mudey - 6 hours drive from Kathmandu along Kathmandu-Jiri Highway. The Sailung Trek is highly recommended for beginners, senior trekkers and families who want to trek with their children as you don't hike more than 500m in altitude on any day of the trek.

You pass through picturesque villages inhabited by Sherpa, Tamang and other ethnic people and wander through rhododendron forests which bloom in red and white during spring (March to May). Walking on the ridges during the Sailung Trek, you will often have beautiful views of the Himalayan Peaks, as far as Mt. Annapurna in the west and Mount Everest in the east. The views in particular from the top of sacred Sailung Hill are awesome. You will enjoy the magnificent views of wide panorama of Himalayas and get a chance to meet friendly ethnic people and understand their culture and socio-economic situation better.
