Trip Over View

This is a trip aimed at the person who wants to refrain from trekking and yet wants to see and experience the rural life, local cultures, traditions, mountains and panoramic views of Nepal.

The journey begins from Nepal’s capital city Kathmandu, exploring its World Heritage sites, medieval temples, palaces, stupas, monasteries, arts and crafts, architecture and bazaars. From Kathamndu, we’ll drive along the banks of Trishuli River towards Royal Chitwan National Park renowned for the preservation of the great one horned rhinoceros, a species almost extinct in the late 70s. The 932 sq km area of the park provides habitat to about 100 Royal Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, sambars, spotted deer, langurs, rhesus monkeys, marsh muggers, gharial crocodiles, and more than 500 different species of birds. From Chitwan, we’ll head to Pokhara - the beautiful glacial valley nestled in the lap of the Annapurnas and Mt. Fishtail. In Pokhara, we will explore caves, waterfalls and gorges and from Pokhara, we’ll head towards Sirubari Village - the main highlight of this trip! Sirubari Village is a totally unspoiled Gurung settlement set in the hills at 1700 meters above sea level with an ideal climate to visit throughout the year. You will stay and eat with a host family.

The accommodation is simple and comfortable with good bedding as well as clean toilet facilities and no hot shower, however. Each night there is an entertainment provided by the community that includes traditional Gurung and Nepali dancing and singing. During your stay you’ll be able to feel very closely what it is like to live the life of a Nepali villager. Come along with your family while they go about their daily chores: tending animals, tilling the fields, going to school with their children; or just bask in the sun and talk to neighbors. An easy one-hour walk above the village is the viewpoint at Thumro. After two days with the friendly people of Sirubari village, we’ll backtrack to Pokhara and take a mountain flight to Kathmandu.
