Route
Lhasa-Draksum Tso-Bayi (Nyingchi)-Tsedang

Kham or the Eastern Tibet is the land no like rest of the Tibet. It has unique climate, geography, flora and fauna. The landscape is green and the scenery resembles to that of Swiss alps rather than the Tibetan plateau. The Khampa people, wearing red or black braids in their long hair and a long-sleeved sheepskin cloak, wide-brimmed hats, big boots and knife by their side and adorned with coral and amber jewelry probably is the biggest attraction of Eastern Tibet.
This trip comprises Lhasa and some parts of Kongpo region. Kongpo, the former kingdom of the early Yarlung kings and rivals to Lhasa, is different than rest of Tibet by language, culture and ecology. This trip begins with the cultural touring of Lhasa that includes Potala Palace, Jorkhang Temple and other regular sites and then heads east wards to Nyingchi-the farthest most destination of this trip. En route, you will visit the beautiful Draksum Tso Lake and spend a night in a guesthouse by the lakeside. On return, you will take the southern route via Kyimpong and Gyatsa Xian, following the banks of Yarlungdzangbo River all the way up to Tsedang-the gateway to the ancient Yarlung Kingdom.
