Pokhara-Beni-Darbang-Sibang-Gurjaghat-Gurjagaon-Bundzungekharka-Churen Himal Basecamp-Lulang-Khibang-Pakhapani-Beni-Pokhara
ChurenHimal (mountain), situated North West from Beni, is a completely isolated trekking destination and is an off-the beaten path. It is abundant with beautiful nature, wild valleys, spectacular views and genuine ethnic people. You will enjoy the spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, GurjaHimal and ChurenHimal. It’s a moderate graded trek, with the highest elevation of 3500m at Rupa La, and suitable for anyone with a strong pair of legs and willingness to walk 5-6 hours a day. This trek will take you inside a region where very few foreigners have been before. You will walk through the rhododendron and pine forests and several villages of Magar ethnic.
Day 01: Drive to Pokhara and continue to Beni and stay in a camp.
Day 02: Today is the first day of the trek, and we camp near Babichaur.
Day 03: Our trek takes us through the historic towns of Darbang to Dharapani.
Day 04: Trek through beautiful terraced fields and traditional villages. Enjoy the spectacular views of Mount Dhaulagiri (8,167m)-which is the 7th highest mountain of the world. Overnight at Lumsum.
Day 05: Trek towards-Deorali pass (3, 280m) the first pass of the trek. Camp before the pass.
Day 06: Cross the pass and descend to the camp.
Day 07: A short trek brings us to the isolated village of Gurjagaon. Today, we halt here and spend the rest of the day exploring the village and meeting the friendly locals.
Day 08: Take a side day-trip to the west base camp of GurjaHimal
Day 09: Trekking to DarsingKhola.
Day 10: Today, we climb steadily to the 4,500m Budzunge Barra pass with spectacular views. We then descend to BudzungeKharka for camping. As we are camping at an altitude around 4,000m, you may experience some mild symptoms of altitude sickness.
Day 11: Trek to ChurenHimal Base Camp at 4,200m-our ultimate destination of this trek
Day 12: Take a day trip to Kaphe Glacier on a minor but good trail to the spectacular Churen Sanctuary.
Day 13: A half day for exploring - there is a 5,000m view point to climb - then trek back to BudzungeKharka.
Day 14: Today, while it’s a long day back to GurjaGaon Village,you are well acclimatized now and should not be too difficult.
Day 15: Struggle once again towards the pass.
Day 16: A descent through beautiful forests along the SimudarKhola brings us to Gurjakot where we eat a picnic lunch. We then follow the trail through the beautiful forest towards Jaljalawhere we will set up camp, most probably on its ridge.
Day 17: Along the crest of the 3,400m Jaljala there are some small hills to climb for spectacular Dhaulagiri-Annapurna views.
Day 18: Descend to Muna.
Day 19: Back on familiar trails though the scenic villages to Dharapani.
Day 20: Trek to Tatopani.
Day 21: Trek to Beni.
Day 22: Drive to Pokhara.
