Nepal Rafting
Rafting in Nepal Being a mountainous country, many people have the idea that Nepal is the destination of the trekkers and mountaineers only but you should alos know that there is enormous opportunity of rafting and Kayaking in the white waters of the Rivers of Nepal which have their sources in the Himalayas. You must be surprised when we say that Nepal has some of the best Rivers in the world for rafting and kayaking trip. Nepal is a second richest country in the world for water resources containing the worlds’ numerous best rivers for white water rafting experiences combined with the mountain scenery, rich cultural heritage, and white-sand beaches. In Nepal you can explore a typical cross section of the country's natural as well as ethno-cultural heritage by the river trip. A variety of cultural activities can be witnessed being performed along the river. The adjoining slopes of the river often harbor dense vegetation and interesting wildlife. Several varieties of fishes also abound the Nepalese rivers. River Grades The fast flowing rivers are graded from easy to near impossible with numerous rapids are the wonderful imagination for the courageous rafters. Quality equipment, experienced guides and our professionalism always make your trip successful and interesting even an amateur with a little sense of adventure can equally enjoy by the perfect rivers of Nepal. From a gentle two-day float down the Seti River to an exhilarating 10-day adventure through the rapids of the remote Tamur, Karnali there is an experience for everyone waiting in Nepal’s famous white waters. Trishuli, Kaligandaki, Sonkoshi, Bhotekoshi, Marshyangdi and Arun rivers are great rivers to experience the great rafting adventure in Nepal. Season Nepal’s rivers change with the seasons. Each year, after the heavy monsoon the water swell, changing the flow of the rivers and the nature of the rapids. New rapids are created; others become more difficult and some simply impossible to navigate. We are constantly monitoring changes in the rivers and their rapids, so that we can always ensure the safety of our clients and plan expeditions with the great care. The most excellent times for rafting are September to early December and March to early June. From early September to early October and May to June the rivers can be extremely high with monsoon run-off. Any expeditions attempted at this time require a very experienced rafting company with an intimate knowledge of the river and strong teams, as high flows are potentially the most dangerous time to be on the river. From mid October onwards the weather is settled and this in one of the most popular times to raft, In December many of the rivers become too cold to enjoy and the days are short with the start of the winter. A time to perhaps consider a shorter trip runs on the warmest river in Nepal. The summer season from March to early June has lower water flows to begin with, which generally means the rapids aren't as powerful. The rivers rise again in May with pre-monsoon storms and some snowmelt, and then it's high water time again. Himalayas are dynamic and their rapids change every monsoon.
